I cried my eyes out.
They fell into my hands,
Silently popping from their homes in my skull
While I screamed in agony
“I DON'T DESERVE THIS”
My mouth stuck ajar,
My jaw unable to open any wider,
Straining and unable to accommodate the flood of pain
Flowing from deep in my chest.
Frozen, waiting for a second,
A fraction of reprieve to find oxygen again.
I looked up at myself from the palm of my hands,
I was dirty, unshaven,
Weak, exhausted.
I tried so hard.
My hands were rough, and my nails
Bitten to the quick.
I sat on the floor of my bathroom
In the 1 bedroom apartment
He insisted would be best
And I cried my eyes out.
